You may be wondering how many pages you have to fill out now with your order. We understand that! After all, you don't request a sworn translation every day. That's why we're happy to explain how it works.
How many pages should I complete?
At Beëdigd Vertaalbureau, we work with a page rate to speed up the process. This way you always know up front where you stand and don't have to wait days for a quote.
In our webshop, we count the front and back of a page as separate pages. This is because a sworn translator must translate each page to make your document legally valid. This also applies to a page with apostilles or stamps. After all, the authority abroad wants to know what they contain.
Do you have multiple documents that need to be translated into the same language? Then simply add up the number of pages. There is no need to enter them as separate orders. We will then send the documents together by mail.
What is the maximum number of words a page can contain?
In the vast majority of cases our page rate is final, but in some cases a page contains so much text that it can no longer be counted as 1 page. In such cases, the sworn translator has to spend much more time on the sworn translation than previously estimated.
Therefore, a page may contain a maximum of 350 words. Does your page contain more than 350 words? Then we will count this as multiple pages based on the word count.
What if I submitted the wrong number of pages?
Our project managers always check your request. If the actual number of pages of the document does not match the number of pages you submitted, we will contact you before processing your request. You may then have to pay extra or receive a refund.
So have you completed only 1 page while the document contains more than 350 words? Then you will receive a request from us for an additional payment before we start working on the sworn translation.

What is a sworn translator?
A sworn translator is a translator who is listed in the Dutch register For Sworn interpreters And Translators(Rbtv). A sworn translator is sworn in by a court of law. To become a sworn translator, the translator must meet a number of quality requirements for education, work experience and integrity. The translator must also do continuing education to maintain his or her status as a sworn translator.

A sworn translation, also called a sworn or sworn translation, is a translation made by a sworn translator. This translator is registered with the Dutch register For Sworn interpreters And Translators(Rbtv) and has been sworn in by a court of law. Translations made by sworn translators are legally valid. So you engage a sworn translator when you are looking for a recognised translation of official documents. Think of evidence for a court, marriage certificates, statutes or birth certificates.
How long will it take to receive the sworn translation?
How long it takes to receive your sworn translation depends on the number of pages, the language combination and the country to which the translation needs to be sent. Call us at +31 (0)85-0080839 to discuss what is possible.
We always aim to deliver within 3 business days, requiring 2 business days for the translation itself. If the document contains more than 6 pages, we may need more than 2 working days for the translation. And also if the language combination you need is quite rare, we may need more time.
When the translation is ready, we deliver it for registered mail to PostNL and share the Track & Trace code with you so you can track the delivery status yourself.
For shipments within the Netherlands, PostNL normally delivers within 1 business day, with Tuesday through Saturday as delivery days for PostNL. For shipments to other countries, delivery times vary widely. On the PostNL website you can find the most up-to-date information on delivery times.
